Even at a glance, it's obvious that there is something truly unique about the Devon Tread 2.

It's one of those timepieces that seems to display something new each time you take a look at it. As first, it seems somewhat simplistic. But as you give it more attention, it becomes increasingly more complex as you see the inner-workings and movements of the belt displays. Of all the skeleton timepieces we've reviewed, this is definitely at the top of our list here at Timepiece Perfection.

Materials

The tonneau style titanium case puts this watch at a medium/large size, about 42mm x 44 mm. It's obvious that this is a heavy duty watch, intricate in ways different from traditional timepieces. As you can see from the pictures, time is told from two electro-mechanical belts. One is numbered with the hours, and the other, minutes. Those belts make for an interesting user experience. For example, you'll notice when the time changes, as there will be the tiniest *click* coming from the Tread, It's a very subtle sound, and it's more noticeable when the hour belt changes.

Design

The Devon Tread 2 is a the epitome of industrial style. Even those who are not that into watches take notice of the unique design and display. While it's not terribly slim, it's not bulky, which is impressive for it's intricate functions the tuning fork horns and lugs. However, the elongated case give this watch a slimmer appearance from the top view. The belt technology is attractively different in aesthetic, giving a refreshing new look to watches in general. The motion of the belts are fascinating, and again, you seem to discover something new each time you look at it. Really, the only downside is the lack of a night display to read time in the dark. Otherwise, this watch is extremely handy and a serious eye-catcher.
